We were delighted that we could stay at Waterfront apartments in Whitianga as a family together occupying both the two-bedroom apartment and an adjoining studio, this enabled us to be close to each other. The apartment was spacious and comfortable with amazing views out to the channel leading to the harbour and contained all the amenities you could think of, we travelled with a 5yr old and he enjoyed the space and comfort so much that he declared it was his most favourite place to stay. He travels a lot with us, and this was a home away from home for him. Which speaks to how amazing the accommodation and atmosphere is at waterfront apartments. The beach was just across the road, and the esplanade was a mere 5-10minute scenic walk. You literally have everything in close proximity and wouldn’t be disappointed. Service by everyone from the time of reservation through to checkout was excellent with Anika managing the replies and Chris welcoming us warmly on arrival. Chris was so thoughtful and shared helpful information and accommodated us in a wonderful and supportive way that we were left in awe! Thank you Chris and we strongly recommend Waterfront apartments as a safe, immaculately clean, and comfortable home away from home in Whitianga!

Great location with a beautiful view Location was fantastic!
Close to shops and restaurants and overlooking the beach, couldn’t have asked for a better spot. Room was large and very tidy, and staff were extremely helpful when checking in with suggestions with things to do and places to go.
A pleasant and comfortable stay, with welcoming staff on arrival
The room has a large window with a view of the harbour entrance and beach. An enclosed balcony is also on offer to enjoy the view. Within easy walking distance of the town centre with plenty of dining options and a stone’s throw away from the Lost Spring. Room was fully equipped for self-catering too.
Wonderful place, could see the ocean from the room
I love that there was a kitchenette and a spot to sit and watch the tides come in and out. It’s a walk away from everything in town. Quiet place, they were doing some renovations, but we were out the entire time they were working and it didn't other us. On-site laundry, the host was lovely. And super helpful. We will be coming back to Whitianga!

Fantastic stay with stunning views. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time at the Waterfront Apartments in Whitianga. The location is absolutely perfect, with beachfront views and a very short/ flat walk to cafes and restaurants. The apartment itself was clean, modern, and spacious. It was fully equipped, they thought of the smallest details, even providing a pair of scissors and egg cups. Anika was great and genuinely friendly. Her hospitality made us feel welcome right away. Excellent service, pristine accommodations, and an unbeatable view. We'd love to stay again!

One of our highlights We booked last minute and were not disappointed!
Waterfront Apartments is an excellent place to stay! Highly recommend. From the front of house intro and welcome by Chris, to the advice on where to find our booked restaurant & what time to catch the sunrise, we could not have been happier! Don’t bother going elsewhere - book it in asap!!!
You will not be disappointed and I highly recommend
After 14hr travel it was such a lovely welcome by staff. The apartment was very modern and the best ocean views.

A wonderful visit A lovely place to stay.
We stayed in the penthouse, and it was fantastic. Amazing views, well equipped and perfectly clean. Really comfortable bed and great shower. Staff are very friendly and kindly lent us a shovel for our visit to Hit Water Beach. Really pleased we stayed here and would highly recommend. Great location.

A really incredible experience
Mr Tom gave us a free upgrade to the full apt and it truly made an unforgettable evening! My partner and I went down the road to get some Texas barbecue on the 4th of July and watch the All Blacks crush France LOL. I loved this accommodation. 10/10

We would 100% stay here again and recommend
We had a fantastic stay here over a long weekend.
We booked the two-bedroom downstairs apartment and waking up to the beach right across the road every morning was incredible. The apartment itself was comfortable and supplied everything we needed. Lovely people that run the place too.

Definitely would recommend this place!
Great location, clean and right across from the water with full waterfront view. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a great waterfront location and full ocean views right from the room. It’s also close to restaurants and bars, all within easy walking distance. Chris was an amazing host – he even helped us with our laundry and let us use the washer and dryer for free, which we really appreciated.
Beautiful views, great location
Amazing views and great location. The space was just perfect for us - we enjoyed wine while looking at the ocean from the warmth of the conservatory room.
We spent 5 rainy and stormy days here and would definitely come again!
A nicely decorated apartment with a stunning view on the bay, located in walking distance to the wharf and the city centre. Everything was super clean and the bed was comfortable.
A beautiful unit in a lovely town
The location was wonderful, and we could easily walk to everything. The room was great, with everything we needed, and with big windows overlooking the beach. There was also a glassed-in sunroom/balcony to enjoy. The parking was much appreciated, as was the advice on local activities. Our room was on the first floor, up one flight of stairs. I tried the beach across the road, but the current was too strong for me - maybe go for the hot springs.
Fantastic accommodation!
EVERYTHING! Modern, clean, quiet (it's the off-season) and tastefully furnished with plenty of space. Nothing was missing! The veranda is cozy; the view of the sea is great (sunrises). The team – operators and staff – are very nice. Our most beautiful accommodation (we're on the road for 2 months)!
Fabulous location with lovely sea views
Very helpful hosts who gave us recommendations for coffee and dinner. Lots to do and see nearby.

A Great Spot to Stay on the Coromandel Peninsula
You should stay here! The location is perfect with a long, lovely beach across the street and an easy walk to the shops and eateries in Whitianga. The apartment is spacious and comfortably furnished. Parking is right outside your door.

The location and space
Clean and functional. We were on the first floor and the patio has doors that open so we were able to enjoy dinner with a water view.

We had a memorable stay in Whitianga, a beautiful area.
A fantastic location with a gorgeous sea view close to all the amenities and the ferry. The studio apartment is spacious, very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. A bonus was having a small freezer. The owners are very friendly and accommodating.
Right across street from ocean
We could leave the windows open and hear the waves crashing. Perfect location to restaurants, etc.
Brilliant location, we will return
Million dollar view across buffalo beach, short stroll to game fishing club for the best price panhead and meals.
Great location
Great location, well positioned for local eateries and shops. The apartment was exceptionally clean, well-presented, quiet, and extremely comfortable.
Pieter, Tripadvisor, January 2026
The view over the water is spectacular
There is nothing between the building and the beach except the road. We were in #8, a two bedroom condo. It is a short walk to the downtown and the wharf. We took the ferry across the harbour and then caught a van to Cook's Beach. We had a nice lunch at The vessel. We enjoyed good meals at the Salt, Hotel Whitianga and Blue Lagoon.
Tom, Tripadvisor, January 2026
Beach location in comfort
Place is very comfortable and clean. Across the road from the beach, and near shops, restaurants. Friendly staff, helped ensure clothes washing and drying were completed. Parking one car per place off site worked well.
Haaron, Tripadvisor, January 2026
Enjoy and relax in a spacious apartment with an all-weather veranda with a sea view
Spacious and comfortable apartment, with a practical veranda offering sea views. Ideal in all weather conditions, with plenty of light in the room. The location is close to the commercial centre of Whitianga. The owners were very attentive and regularly came to check if everything was okay with us when we were in a storm for 48 hours. They were also very flexible when we had to extend our stay by a day due to blocked roads caused by the bad weather.
Very relaxing and we would return
Directly opposite the beach and close to great restaurants. Felt that this was a perfect location. Very handy that there was a mini-mart a couple of minutes away. Our apartment had an amazing view over the bay. The apartments were exceptionally well appointed and very comfortable. Very nice hot shower. Hosts were super friendly - they lent us some shovels to use at Hot Water beach, and were very helpful in assisting us with using the onsite laundry and clothesline.
Wonderful relaxing stay with incredible views
The views were amazing, and we loved that it was just out of the town centre but still easily walkable to all locations. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was so spacious! Everything was clean & modern, and the shower had great water pressure. The AC worked great. Our hosts were gracious. We highly recommend!
Lovely place, everything worked perfectly, and the view was stunning
Lovely accommodation where everything worked perfectly. The tips provided by the host were very helpful, and the view was absolutely stunning and truly unforgettable.
Very clean with lots of attention to detail
Lovely staff. Spacious room with well stocked kitchenette. Lovely view of the ocean from our patio.

Great place to stay
Well-appointed apartments, and a fantastic location directly opposite the beach. Owners very helpful (were able to lend us shovels to use at Hot Water Beach and showed us how to use the facilities in the guest laundry). Within walking distance to numerous restaurants. The apartment was very well appointed and comfortable. Would recommend.

A well-run apartment complex right on the waterfront
Our apartment was spacious and modernly furnished, with everything you could need, including a kitchenette with a fridge/freezer. The Wi-Fi was good, and there was a lovely view of the beach and the promenade. Many restaurants, cafes, and shops were within easy reach.

“Best Coromandel accommodation”
“We planned one night and ended up staying another, inadvertently being able to experience two rooms. We didn't want to leave the area! The first, a single room was lovely with a fabulous outlook over the water. The second, a two bedroom had the most beautiful new bathroom with a bath tub to soak away in. Both rooms highly recommended. Washing facilities were offered at no charge also, and whilst we didn't end up utilising them, it was a very kind gesture. It was all fabulous.”

"A particularly pleasant stay in a particularly beautiful location!"
"Very spacious apartment. Nice and clean rooms, everything you would need is there. Well-equipped kitchen! The hosts Gina & Chris are extremely helpful and accommodating! My wife had a medical emergency. We were helped in every way possible. Chris even accompanied us to the medical center and actively supported us there as well. I have never experienced such helpful support from a host before! Many thanks again to Gina & Chris for their kind, caring, and helpful support, which goes far beyond the usual level! Everything was great! There is nothing I didn't like!"
